DTM: Another podium place for Timo Scheider
Timo Scheider was again the fastest driver of an Audi A4 DTM at the seventh round of the DTM season at Brands Hatch. As at the past race at Zandvoort, the reigning champion occupied third place, behind the winner, Paul Di Resta, and Bruno Spengler (both Mercedes). All Audi cars in the DTM are equipped with clutch high tech from ZF Sachs Race Engineering.

The two-time DTM Champion Matthias Ekstrm suffered a bitter set-back in the fight for the championship. The Swede, who was the best-placed Audi driver in the standings up to the race at Brands Hatch, was forced to retire on the third lap after several collisions shortly after the start of the race.

Formula 1: Ferrari celebrates one-two finish at Hockenheim

Victory for ZF Sachs partner Ferrari in the German GP: In front of thousands of enthusiastic fans Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa, whose cars are equipped with ZF Sachs Race Engineering dampers, celebrated a one-two finish. For Ferrari it was the second one-two following the season opener in Bahrain.

Massa took the lead at Hockenheim immediately after the start, defended it convincingly up to lap 49 before allowing his team mate Fernando Alonso to take first place.

The prestigious German duel in the Mercedes GP team was again won by Nico Rosberg. The German, who also relies on ZF Sachs dampers in his car, finished eighth ahead of his team mate Michael Schumacher. As a result the two drivers collected valuable points in their home event.

No technical problems and both cars across the finish line this was the summary of both Sauber drivers Kamui Kobayashi and Pedro de la Rosa, who finished the German GP in eleventh and fourteenth positions. The two drivers also rely on dampers of the ZF Sachs brand in their cars.

Formula 1: Podium finish for Nico Rosberg

The German Nico Rosberg recorded a third place finish in the British GP. The Mercedes-GP driver, whose car is equipped with ZF Sachs Race Engineering dampers, started the race from fifth on the grid and made up two places. Rosberg celebrated his third podium finish of the current season as a result. He lies sixth in the championship standings. Team mate Michael Schumacher finished ninth at Silverstone and, in doing so, scored two points.

The BMW Sauber Team, whose cars are also equipped with dampers made in Schweinfurt, also scored points. Kamui Kobayashi crossed the finish line in sixth place and thus celebrated his best position of the season.

The race weekend ran less successfully for Ferrari drivers Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa, who clashed in the opening stages and who were also involved later in various incidents. The two Ferrari drivers, who also rely on ZF Sachs Race Engineering dampers, finished in 14th and 15th position. Some consolation for Fernando Alonso was his fastest race lap.

Sebastien Buemi, in whose STR-Ferrari ZF Sachs Race Engineering clutches and dampers are used, finished the race in twelfth position.

The two HRT F1 team drivers, Karun Chandhok and Sakon Yamamoto, who trust clutches and dampers made in Germany, crossed the finish line in nineteenth and twentieth positions.

Audi takes one-two-three at Le Mans with new distance record

Audi celebrated a remarkable one-two-three podium lock out in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Timo Bernhard/Romain Dumas/Mike Rockenfeller won the world痴 toughest long-distance race. A multi-plate carbon clutch from ZF Sachs Race Engineering is used in their further developed Audi R15 TDI. Their team mates Marcel F舖sler/Andr Lotterer/Beno羡 Treluyer were second, third were Dindo Capello/Tom Kristensen/Allan McNish.

The legendary motorsport marathon developed early into a challenging test for man and machine, during which the later winner Audi fought tooth and nail while lapping at a rapid pace with defending champion Peugeot also equipped with clutch technology from Schweinfurt. The result was a new absolute distance record for the 24-hour race on the Sarthe, which clearly exceeded the old record by 75 kilometres previously set on a much quicker circuit version from 1971.

It was not only in the fight for overall victory that teams relied on ZF Sachs Race Engineering products but also in the other categories for example in the Porsche 997 GT3 RSR. Winner in the LMGT2 class was the Porsche team Felbermayr with Marc Lieb/Richard Lietz/Wolf Henzler at the wheel.
